Montessori for Pre-Primary
Better Than Childcare
Our Toddler(Pre-Primary) program is an engaging place where your child can explore, grow, and become more independent. With gentle guidance, clear structure, and purposeful work, we help your child build their confidence and learn skills that they will need for life.
We know that young children learn best when they have freedom within limits. Our Pre-Primary classrooms are made for children ages 18 to 36 months. They are filled with items that are designed for their age, and that encourage them to move and learn at their own pace.
A Space Designed for Toddlers
The toddler years are a special time for learning new words, moving around, and becoming more independent. Our classrooms are set up to help toddlers grow in all these areas. The room is calm, organized, and planned so children can explore, play, and practice new skills. Our outdoor play areas are also made just for toddlers, with soft surfaces and equipment for safe climbing, running, and exploring.
Our rooms include:
- Small tables, chairs, and shelves so our toddlers can choose their own activities and learn to be independent.
- Practical life materials to encourage pouring and sweeping to help our students build their fine motor skills.
- Manipulative items such as stacking blocks, puzzles, and sorting games to encourage our students to explore.
- Gross motor materials such as push toys, ramps, and steps to help our students practice balance and coordination.
These tasks help our students feel proud of all that they can do on their own. You will see the pride on your child’s face when they master putting on their own coat or serving themselves a snack!

We help our toddlers develop social skills and emotional awareness in different ways. Our teachers model respectful behavior and guide their students in learning how to share, take turns, and express their feelings in words. We create a place where they feel safe and supported as they learn how to interact with others.
Toddlers love to copy adults and other children. Our teachers keep this in mind in order to help them learn social skills. By watching and joining in these experiences, our toddlers learn how to cooperate, solve problems, and make friends.
We provide a safe space in which our toddlers learn to walk, climb, and balance. They use toys that they can push and pull, which helps them develop strong muscles and balance for walking. They also love climbing and balancing on low steps and ramps. Actions like pouring water or stacking blocks help our students use their small muscles and improve fine motor skills.
Daily schedules and routines work to create an environment in which our toddlers feel safe and secure. We mix active playtime with quiet moments, allowing them to play, explore, and rest in a way that meets their needs. We work closely with our parents to ensure that our classroom routines and routines at home work together to support each child. Whether it is nap time, snack time, or toilet learning, our teachers keep things consistent so our toddlers feel comfortable and confident throughout their day.
